Duties and Responsibilities

·  Directs the work assignment of supervisory and non-supervisory personnel.

·  Monitors Housekeeping personnel to ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service.

·  Monitors personnel to ensure rooms, be given special attention, particularly those of VIPs guests, Club guests and suites.

·  Informs   other   operating Department of Housekeeping   matters which concern notably the   Front Office,   to   ensure   accurate room status,   in   addition to communicating with Engineering, Laundry and Food and Beverage Departments.

·  Establishes and maintains effective employee relations.

·   Assists Executive Housekeeper in personnel related matters such as interviewing, appraising and counseling.

·  Assists Executive Assistant Housekeeper to identify training needs, develop formal training plans and to implement training sessions.

·  Schedule routine inspections by Supervisors of all Housekeeping areas including occupied and non-occupied rooms.

·  Inspects guest rooms in all Housekeeping areas on a regular basis to ensure furnishings, facilities and equipment are clean and in good repair, well maintained and replaced / re-famished as required and make recommendations to Executive Housekeeper as appropriate.


·  Maintains appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance and conduct of departmental employees.

·  Follows up on progress of agenda   items covered in regular meetings.

·  Ensures Housekeeping personnel are familiar with in-house facilities and promotions for the purpose of assisting guests.

·  Assists in monitoring and controlling on an on-going basis, departmental budged and goals.

·  Assists in the preparation of the Housekeeping departmental budget and goals.

·  Maintains a steady flow   of communication    to    the   Executive Housekeeper / Executive Assistant Housekeeper on   all matters affecting the Housekeeping   Department.

·  Supervises   outside   contractors   to   ensure   contractual   compliance.

·  Assists in monitoring Housekeeping and emergency procedures, lost and found, key control, security and emergency procedures, health and safety for employees and guests.

·  Acts on behalf of the Executive Assistant Housekeeper in her absence as assigned.

·   Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
